On February 11, the municipal government held the first signing ceremony of foreign investment projects in 2022. This was to demonstrate the results of opening up and introducing foreign investment, and boost the confidence of domestic and international investors in Shanghai. There were 53 foreign investment projects signed, with a total investment of 5.44 billion USD, equivalent to 34.3 billion RMB. Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Gong Zheng attended and witnessed the signing ceremony, and Vice Mayor Zong Ming delivered a speech. A signing ceremony was also attended by Gao Xiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jiading District Committee and Mayor of Jiading District.

In the new year, Shanghai will take advantage of the RCEP's enforcement to speed up its blacklisting of foreign businesses, according to Zhu Jin, the deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. Shanghai will also deepen the expansion and opening up of the service industry, continue to create a market-oriented, rule-of-law and international business environment. Shanghai will continue to build a precise and effective policy system, create better conditions for international enterprises to invest and establish roots in Shanghai, and strive to build a preferrable urban cluster for high-quality foreign investment in the new era.

It is understood that six foreign business projects in the Jiading District totalled the amount of 3.23 billion RMB in investment.
